THE LOCATION
Iluka is a fishing village at the mouth of the Clarence River, in New South Wales, Australia. It is nestled between the beauty of the river on the southern edge, the majesty of the Pacific Ocean to the east and is surrounded by the extensive Bundjalung National Park, with its 700 year old rain forest.
The township and National Park abound with wildlife including some of Australia's indigenous species of kangaroos, emus and lizards. Birds are abundant, with residents ranging from parrots to plovers, kytes to oyster catchers, osprey, pelicans, turns and many more.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER
It is in this paradise that NORM WINKWORTH has spent several years indulging his passion for photography and in particular his joy and talent for photographing wildlife in natural e
nvironments. A photographer of many years experience, Norm opened ILUKA GALLERY so that he could share his images of birds, animals, landscapes, the sea, insects and flowers with others, so that we may all come to appreciate, enjoy and protect the precious and precarious environment in which we live.
